Smoothies are a great way to consume a mix of healthy, fresh and raw vegetables or fruits while ensuring a good amount of fluid and fiber intake. Below, I have shared a simple yet very effective recipe of Green Smoothie which I had received from my mentor and senior yoga teacher, Ms Kalpana Mehta. Here it is:

 

Ingredients:

  • Palak 10 leaves
  • 10 to 15 leaves of pudina
  • 10 to 15 leaves of coriander
  • 1 paan leaf
  • 5 leaves of tulsi
  • half tea spoon of cinnamon powder
  • a pinch of black pepper powder or 5 black peppers
  • black or rock salt as per taste
  • lime juice or one amla
  • one glass of water

Process:

  • Clean and wash all the leaves
  • Add all ingredients to the mixer and grind well
  • Serve and consume with love towards your self and gratitude towards mother nature 🙂

This green smoothie works well as an early morning drink or evening time refreshment.

  • Minimal loss of nutrition and important minerals and vitamins since no cooking is involved
  • Higher ‘pranic’ value as the ingredients are consumed fresh
  • Lots of gut friendly fiber and fluid which together beat dehydration and constipation
  • Helps clean the body of toxins
  • Aids weight correction by activating body’s healthy metabolism rate
  • Brings us closer to nature and to our selves
