This International Yoga Day (2018) we had a no-chairs-barred yoga session for employees at Harmony Distributors Pvt. Ltd., a Logistics Firm based out of Mumbai.
The session was special, being an all-inclusive activity where all departments and all functions did something together. Among the 25 odd participants we had the HOD, the oldest employee (13 years if I remember correct) and even the housekeeping staff joinining in, and that was was really endearing to see. It being a morning activity, turned out even better because of the refreshing feel that accompanied it.
A big shout out to the HR team, especially Gayatri and Arif. They were super cool, and had meticulously made all the arrangements for the special day, including the lovely orange aroma diffuser and making sure that the participants dress suitably for the various yoga stretches and breathing exercises.
We started with the what and why of yoga and then practiced Sukshma Vyayamas and chair yoga poses for various spinal movements and joint exercises. After relaxation we took up breath work (sahaj praayama) and meditation ended the practice session. We also shared with the participants tips for designing their personal practice session, what all to include and how much time to devote to each technique. Also how to make one’s yoga practice holistic and complete. Last but not the least, we discussed the key elements of a healthy diet: the type of food to consume, the timing of and the gap before each meal, the quantity of the food and so on. We ended the session with a few rounds of Brahmari. Fresh faces, fresh feet and lots of warmth were great company for all present. 🙂 🙂
“On behalf of my entire team thank you so much for a wonderful session on International Yoga Day. We all liked the session and the asanas we learnt during the session this was the first time such activity was conducted in our office and it was well appreciated by each one.”Gayatri Bhati, Training Manager
